Museum Gold

The Gold Museum of the Bank of the Republic of Colombia is an institution open to the public with the purpose of acquiring, preserving and exhibiting pieces of goldwork and pottery of indigenous cultures from the pre-Columbian period of present-day Colombia. It is located at the corner of 16th Street with Race 5, on the eastern side of Santander Park, in the historic center of Bogota. It owns the largest collection of goldwork in the world with approximately four and four thousand pieces of gold and tombs, about twenty-five thousand objects in pottery, stone, shell, bones and textiles. Exhibiting pieces of different indigenous cultures in Colombia today before the arrival of Europeans, including Calima, Muiscas, Nariño, Quimbaya, Sinu, Tairona, San Agustín, Tierradentro, Tolima, Among other things.
